From TV shows to the movies, the martial arts have always held a fascination for Mr. Gwilt. Visiting a Shotokan karate school and watching the class perform their various moves he came to realize that this style was not for him. After some searching he came across Gary Ronemus' karate school. Not knowing much about the style, what he knew back then came from the movie "The Perfect Weapon", he decided to give it a try.

Having been told about how the techniques are built on principles and concepts, he decided to give the style a try. After the free class there was not even a thought of turning back. Mr. Gwilt was finally able to make the dream come true in March of 1994.

On that fateful day in March of 1994, Mr. Gwilt began his training in the Art of Ed Parker's Kenpo Karate. Finally after years of dedication, study and hours upon hours of training, he was given the opportunity to test for the rank of First Degree Black on Friday, November 7, 1997. He was presented the following day with his brand new Black Belt.

Dedicated to the Art of Kenpo, Mr. Gwilt currently holds the rank of Third Degree Black Belt. He continues to train as well as teach the art.
